Wadi Rum, Aqaba and the Desert

HAUNTING BEAUTY
AND A SENSE OF
TIMELESSNESS
“Wadi Rum is vast, echoing, and God-like.” – T. E. Lawrence
It’s difficult to imagine the vast desert, with no civilization as far as the eye can see, little to no vegetation and extreme temperatures. This – southern Jordan – is the land of the Bedouin, who have long embraced the unforgiving landscape. We introduce you to the most quintessential of desert-scapes, Wadi Rum, which you can explore by 4×4 Bedouin jeep. The strikingly red-hued Al Hasany Dunes are a must, particularly at sunset. You’ll make your way to the crest of the dune for a peaceful, soul-searching moment while gazing out at the otherworldly landscape and contemplating life as a nomad. Then, take things at a slightly slower pace when you explore by camelback for a day or drift above it all by hot-air balloon.
Journey to Aqaba, a socially conservative beach resort destination on the country’s only stretch of coastline. Drink in the glorious Red Sea views and dive or snorkel on the unspoiled coral gardens before or after visiting the desert attractions nearby.
Filled with striking landscapes and deep-rooted traditions, time in Jordan’s Southern Desert will satisfy the desert nomad inside yourself and introduce you to a fascinating way.
